President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was Thursday challenged to allow the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) release records relating to allegations of heroin trafficking reportedly linked to him. A United States-based policy advisory and lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, made this call in a statement posted on its verified X handle.
The firm accused Tinubu of attempting to rebrand himself as an anti-drug campaigner, describing his recent advocacy as a “desperate stunt” unless he supports the release of the records.
The outfit said its principal, Dr. Von Batten, met with Republican and Democratic congressional staffers on Wednesday to discuss several issues, including the allegations concerning Tinubu.
Said the firm in the statement: “If President Tinubu is committed to fighting drug trafficking, we challenge him to publicly call for the FBI to release all records concerning alleged heroin trafficking reportedly connected to him.
“We also challenge him to withdraw his petition before the US court opposing their disclosure”.
