Nigerian singer, Asa is back on the block with a new single to assuage the thirst of fans after a five-year niatus.

She released her third studio album, Bed of Stone in 2014 to critical acclaim and rave reviews. Since then, it’s been radio silence from the singer. Fans have been shouting for the singer to release new music. The cries have come mainly from social media.

But earlier on Friday, via her Instagram stories from her account @asaofficial, she teased an untitled, yet colorful and impressive music video. She then ended the video post with the caption, ’14.05.’

The number indicates a tentative date of release which is Tuesday, May 14, 2019.

FIFA Okays Normalisation Committee For NFF Till May 2027

FIFA Thursday announced approval of plans to institute a normalisation committee for running the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) until May 2027.   This was contained in a letter to the NFF’s interim leadership where FIFA said it would, in conjunction with CAF, appoint committee members “as soon as possible”.  Read the letter: “The period during which the normalisation committee shall perform its functions shall expire as soon as it has fulfilled all of its tasks, but by no later than 31 May 2027″.  The NFF is expected to hold new elections before the committee’s tenure expires. None of the panel members will be eligible for the positions to be filled in the elections.  Pending the appointment of the committee members, Emmanuel Ikpeme, the NFF acting general-secretary, will continue to manage the Federation’s affairs.  FIFA officials visited Nigeria in September to confirm the absence of government influence after most NFF executives resigned in August.  Ibrahim Gusau, NFF president, and Mohammed Sanusi, the general-secretary, both resigned after pressure over disappointing performances by various national teams.  Shortly after the exits, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordered a “comprehensive reform” of Nigerian football to “overcome repeated failures to qualify for major regional, continental and world tournaments”.
