The slogan “We came, We saw, We conquered” has never been so befitting as it is with our excitement at CIG after honouring Chief Collins Ifeanyi Onwuneme Ajereh Enebeli aka Mavin Grandpa(Don Jazzy’s Father) at the just concluded CIG industry night. The Excitement was unrivalled by any other in the recent past.

The atmosphere was indeed turbo-charged as top celebrities trooped in to celebrate a man who has touched so many lives in the creative industry with his top managerial skills.

The celebrity list included the likes of Africa’s top pop act, Alex O, sultry voiced ace broadcast queen, Cordelia Okpe, the Goge Africa chairman, and managing-director, Isaac and Nneka Moses, New York-based Emma Agu (Aguike) aka Alabama, Premier Music general-manager/CEO Michael Odiong, Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) general-manager, Bernice Eriemeghe, AMAN Image Maker, Duchess and of course, chief host cum CIG president, Amb. Felix Duke and his Queen Lady Caprz.

The show kicked off with the band, featuring its leader, Simmy Hendrix, CIG Music Sector Coordinator, Newton Isiramen, and singer, Henry McJohn, with some superb tunes down memory lane. With Pa Sidney behind the console and rising performer, Priest Godsknight solidly repping at the DJ’s Box, the compere, McVee welcomed the audience and introduced CIG artistes who thrilled the audience with good dance vibes, including sweet acapella performances from the birthday girl, Lady Bonnie Ajugba, after which the AMAN artistes from the Special Guest, Mavin Grandpa’s stable, took centre stage, adding more excitement and colour to the show with nice tunes.

Highpoint of the event was touching tributes from celebrities like Alex O, Nneka Moses and others about Mavin Grandpa. Then came the moment the Award Plaque was presented to Marvin Grandpa by Goge Africa CEO, Mr. Isaac Moses; indeed marking a great moment of excitement mixed with emotions considering all he’s done and still doing for the Industry.

CIG Sector heads, Manny Eke aka Music Chef and Diva Remi, alongside CIG Music exco, DJ Maureen, Ope Jesu and Seyi Regulate, worked tirelessly to ensure that the event went smoothly.

It was indeed a night to remember for a long while.

Amb Felix Duke, CIG president, was all smiles as another feather had been added to CIG’s Cap. Watch out for the next special guest the CIG Industry Night as the show can only get better.
