From every indication, Chief Tony Okoroji, former PMAN president and current Chairman, Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), appears to be on the run.
Every attempt to reach the previously easily accessible Okoroji in the last two weeks, has failed. He is neither taking calls nor can he be found in his office at COSON House Ikeja.
Reliable sources at COSON House say that Okoroji is the architect of his own discomfort.
Said close COSON staffer who did not want to be named: “The Chairman has become afraid of his phone. It is ringing non-stop. If it is not a call from one high level Nigerian who desperately wants to get one of the revered Okoroji specially crafted passports to the COSON Green Ball, it is a call from one desperate artiste who wants to be on stage at a COSON Week event. The man has created a monster and may have become afraid of the monster he has created”.
Chief Tony Okoroji was spotted at Eko Hotel at the AMVCA, last Saturday. Before anyone could say “African Magic”, the man had vamoosed. For a minute, he was also seen sharing a table with his friends, Patrick Doyle, Soni Irabor, Danladi Bako, Peter Igho and Bimbo Oloyede at Bisi Olatilo’s big celebration at MUSON Centre on Tuesday, the next minute, the man had disappeared! Tony Okoroji is now a constantly moving target.
The guy who says that he drives on a full tank of faith and well known for promoting and producing massive events, may have finally outdone himself. The promotion of the 2025 COSON Week has been out of this world.
