Caleb Olubolade, former Military Administrator of Bayelsa State, Sunday died at the Lagos Tennis Club aged 70.

Olubolade, who served as Minister of Special Duties under former President Goodluck Jonathan, died in Apapa area of Lagos.

A statement released by his children, Akinadewo and Dayo Olubolade, said the former Minister slumped at a lawn tennis facility.

Reas the statement: “He drove himself to the facility to play lawn tennis in the evening and slumped while playing. Efforts were made by medical officers around to revive him to no avail”.

He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Obisesan Naval medical hospital in Apapa.

Olubolade, who celebrated his 70th birthday on November 30, 2024, had a distinguished career in Nigeria’s public service.

The family said details regarding the burial would be announced at a later time.
