SP Josephine Adeh.
The increasing number of abandoned babies in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has become o source for concern to Josephine Adeh, police public relations officer (PPRO) who described the development as “alarming”.
Adeh took to her X page on Sunday to lament the “alarming” which she attributed the cause to “men who abandon women after getting them pregnant”.
The PPRO advised men who are not ready for the responsibility of fatherhood to either avoid unprotected sex or abstain totally.
Wrote she: “The increasing number of abandoned babies in the FCT is alarming. Just yesterday, two new cases were reported. This troubling trend is largely due to men abandoning women after impregnating them. If you are not prepared to take responsibility for fatherhood, avoid unprotected sex or abstain from it”.
This is not the first time Adeh has spoken out about some men’s “irresponsible” behaviour.
Adeh, in July, also bemoaned the rate at which some Nigerian men break women’s hearts, describing the situation as “distasteful”.
Stated she: “It’s distasteful to lead a woman on and then break her heart. The rate at which men are doing this is saddening. Most of the calls I receive these days are from women sharing their experiences in tears. Men, please, don’t start a relationship if you don’t want anything serious”.
