Judge Recuses Self From Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s Case

Justice Binta Nyako has said she would be pleased to recuse herself from the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB).

Kanu, had on Tuesday, requested that Justice Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja recuse herself from his case, because he no longer had confidence in her court.

Kanu, who made the request at the resumed hearing of his case, added that the judge had decided not to obey orders of the Supreme Court.

In response, Justice Nyako said she would be happy to recuse herself from the trial, and had no problem with his request.

She said the case file would be sent back to the Chief Judge for it to be reassigned as well as further necessary actions.
