In January 2022, Cubana was appointed as a social media aide to Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State.

His arraignment comes a few days after Bobrisky, another social media celebrity, was sentenced to six months in prison for abusing the Naira.

Last Friday, Abimbola Awogboro, a judge of the Federal High Court in Lagos, held that Bobrisky’s sentence was without the option of a fine.

The anti-graft agency recently revealed it was investigating several celebrities who might have been involved in currency abuse.
