AFCON: CBN Not Stalling S/Eagles Allowances, Bonuses – NFF

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Tuesday debunked claims suggesting that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is delaying the disbursement of match bonuses and allowances owed the Super Eagles playing in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.

Reports had recently surfaced that the CBN was delaying payments of match bonuses and allowances due to Jose Peseiro’s wards.

However, NFF, in a statement by its General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, on Tuesday, said the Nigeria football powerhouse had not experienced any delays from the CBN.

Read NFF’s statement partly: “It is unfair for anyone to concoct lies against the institution for whatever reasons.

“We have not experienced any delays or complication of processes at the CBN this time, and we give kudos to them for their diligence and great sense of duty”.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles will face Palengas Negras of Angola in the quarter-final clash on Friday after beating Cameroon in the round of 16.
