An abandoned one-day-old baby boy was on Sunday evening rescued in Tayi area of Minna, the Niger State capital.
The baby, a source revealed, was found a few hours after he was abandoned by an unknown person, just as he explained that he was wrapped in a leather and left without clothes on him.
Added the source: “Ants had started crawling on him before he was found. This is the most tragic scene I have ever seen in my life. A capital punishment should be introduced against people that do this”.
The source stated that the umbilical cord was still attached to the baby and was given bathe few hours after he was found.
He lamented that the blood was just washed off the body of the boy and thrown away.
