Sir Peter Obi, Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, has lodged an appeal on 51 grounds at the Supreme Court, seeking to nullify the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The former Anambra State governor cited dissatisfaction with the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which dismissed his case.

The Tribunal had on September 6, affirmed Tinubu as president after dismissing Obi’s petition.

The five-member panel of the tribunal also unanimously struck out two other appeals filed by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied People’s Movement (APM).

Obi had approached the Tribunal, seeking to be declared the winner of the February 25 Presidential Election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had declared Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the winner of the polls.

Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), however, are challenging the declaration of INEC in court.

Haruna Tsammani who led the panel held that all three petitions were devoid of merit, and upheld the victory of Bola Tinubu, with both Obi and Atiku vowing to seek justice at the apex court.

Determined to prove their case, Obi and his party on Tuesday submitted their appeals at the apex court.

The notice of appeal premised on 51 grounds is asking the court to “set aside the perverse judgement of the Tribunal.
