No less than 24 persons on Sunday afternoon allegedly died, with unconfirmed number of others missing in a boat mishap that happened in the Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State.
Jibrim Muregi, Council chairman, when contacted, confirmed the accident, adding that the actual number of travellers could not be ascertained at the moment.
Muregi also disclosed that 24 bodies of the passengers who hailed from various communities of Gbajibo, Ekwa and Yankeiade were recovered.
He added that a rescue team was on ground to rescue and recover bodies.
