The picturesque Redeemed Christian Church of God, Games Village, Abuja parish hosted the solemn but well attended Service of songs of Chief Mrs Kosor Akpapunam, an Abuja society personage and wife of Entertainment Guru and veteran Dj, Mr Henry Akpapunam aka DJ Mannix.
It was an evening of high praise and worship in honour of a woman who was described as a pillar and mother of the church.
For those present, it was an evening to take stock of their lives and make amends as person after person who read tributes had glowing words for Chief Mrs Kosor Akpapunam.
Said Kate Maduekwe a Professor at the University of Abuja, in her Tribute: “She embodied the love of God and the love of man. She was like the oak tree where every human being found a place to nest”.

The first Bible reading of the day was by her son, Henry Chuks Akpapunam, followed by the second reading by the junior son, Ogechukwu Felix Akpapunam, and the third by Mrs Ify Nzekwu.
Her hubby, Mr. Henry Akpapunam, surrounded by his sons and younger brother, Ken, read her biography and recalled her last days in London,
Recounted he: “Sugarbabe loved me so much and I cherished her”.
The church service rounded off at about 7:15 to make way for refreshments at the home of the Akpapunam’s at Sunnyvale Estate, Lokogoma.
That turned out to be another cultural extravaganza and fiesta with singing and dancing from groups from Ezi and Asaba, the ascestral homes of the couple which went on till past midnight.
Said Mannix to our reporter: “The quality of the crowd tonight, a Tuesday, is testimony of how well regarded and loved my wife was”.
