Fmr. President Goodluck Jonathan
A private academic institution, Cavendish University, Uganda, has appointed Goodluck Jonathan, former president of Nigeria, its Chancellor.
Cavendish university, Uganda was established in 2008.
The university announced the appointment in a post via Tweeter on Monday.
Wrote the university: “Welcome aboard @GEJonathan as you take over as the Chancellor of CUU. We look forward to this new era and achieving great things under your leadership. Success begins at Cavendish”.

Jonathan is expected to be installed on August 26, 2021, in time to preside over the university’s 10th graduation ceremony which will take place on the same date.
Before Jonathan’s career in politics, he had served as a science inspector of education.
He was also a lecturer at Rivers state College of Education, Rumuolumeni which is now Ignatius Ajuru University.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Zoology; a master’s degree in Hydro Biology and fisheries biology, and a doctorate degree in Zoology.
After President Umaru Yar’Adua’s death on May 5, 2010, Jonathan, who was vice-president, was sworn in as the substantive president of Nigeria on May 6, 2010.
He won the 2011 presidential election but was defeated in 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari.
