Late DSP John Onyima

The Alumni Association of Boys’ Secondary School Aku, in Igbo-Etiti LGA of Enugu State, Nigeria, are in grief over the demise of DSP John ONYIMA, whose burial in the historic Aku community will take place in his ancestral home, Useh village on June 5, 2021 by 9am.

In an obituary tribute signed by the President of the Alumni Association, Mr Japhet CS. Ugwu, he said, “As a 1984 graduating set of our Alma Mater, DSP John Onyima chose early the career path to  protect the lives of citizens of this country in the Nigerian Police Service. John did that proudly and remarkably till the last breath of his 53 years sojourn on earth”.

Indeed, service with love and loyalty was his epic byline throughout his professional tour of duty, a finishing he got from our common character nursery, the great Aku Boys’, now St James College Aku.

Riding on the wings of the School motto ” To Serve God and Humanity”, John shined the path of labour for humanity with grace and purpose. As he returns to the source from whence we all  came, we are proud his family and friends will find strength and comfort in the inspiration he was, and still is.

We therefore commend his spirit to God’s abiding mercy and grace in his journey triumphant, and urge all who knew him to pray for his repose. We equally request all our Alumni members who can, to kindly be there for the family, and pay our last respects to him on the burial date.
