The police in Kano on Monday arrested a 30-year-old woman, Hauwa Auwal of Shekara Sabuwar Abuja in Kumbotso LGA of Kano State, for pouring hot water on her husband’s second wife.
The victim, Sha’awanatu Muhmmad suffered the fate with her four-year-old daughter, Halima Khalid.
DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, Kano State Police Command spokesperson, who confirmed the arrest, said police operatives stormed the house after receiving reports of the incident and arrested the culprit and rushed the victims to the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital for medical treatment.
On her part, the mother of the victim, Hajiya Binta Isma’il appealed to the state government and other well-meaning individuals to help settle the medical bills of her daughter and granddaughter.
