Late Bishop Olusola Ore
The Lagos State Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has announced the death of its Chairman, Bishop Olusola Ore.
Ore’s death came as a rude shock to many who have described the occurrence as fall of a gallant soldier of Christ, though his legacy lives on.
The 66-year-old, described as a caring and humorous leader, was the Presiding Bishop of Love Aglow Ministries Int’l, with the headquarters in Festac, Lagos, died in a Lagos hospital on Monday, October 25 after a brief illness.
Offered a statement issued Tuesday by Rev. Toyin Kehinde, PFN Lagos State Secretary: “With gratitude to God for a life spent in the service of the master and the expansion of the kingdom of God, with heavy hearts the CWC of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Lagos Chapter wishes to announce the transition to glory of its Chairman, Bishop (Dr.) Olusola Ore , J.P who passed on after a brief illness on Monday.
“We request all the brethren to remain prayerful and supportive of the family at this time. Further announcements will be made in due course.”
A statement on Love Aglow Ministries Int’l website, made known that the late Bishop Olusola Ore, an accountant by profession, who was appointed Chairman, Lagos State Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board, September 2015, gave his life to Christ in February 1980 on a crusade ground organised by All Nations Disciples of Christ Inc. led by a renowned Evangelist, the late Evang. J. K. Solomon.
He was thereafter introduced to the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Ilorin in April 1980, two months after his conversion. He was ordained a minister of the gospel in 1986 in RCCG, and served for 18 years as an Area Pastor with the Ikeja Family.
He left RCCG in May 1998 to start Love Aglow Ministries Int’l in obedience to the mandate from the Lord, to preach and demonstrate the love of God to the hurting world, and this had taken him to few nations of the world spreading the message of the love of Christ.
He was actively involved in the leadership of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) at various levels for several years. He was Festac Zone Vice-Chairman 2004-2006, Badagry Regional Chairman (Mile 2 to Seme Border) 2006-2010, Lagos State Treasurer: 2010-2004. He took over from Apostle Alexander Bamgbola as PFN, Lagos State Chairman from 2004 till his passing on.
Some religious leaders mourning his the cleric described the transition as a huge devastation to the Christian community.
Wrote Dr. Elishama Ideh, Former Nigeria Presidential Candidate and Founder of Christ The Ever Present Ministries: “To live is Christ, to die is gain—this is the message of the letter. Therefore, our lives should be lived to Him, through Him, for Him, with Him, about Him—everything should be about Jesus.
“Adieu great General of the Lord bishop Olusola Ore our chairman of Pfnlagos State lagos. Rest in peace till we meet at the bossom of the Lord.May the Lord comfort us all and all your loved ones that you left behind in Jesus Name”.
Wrote Pastor Oloruntoba Elisha, one of Ore’s aides: ”All deaths are sudden, no matter how gradual, the dying may be, but your own is still a shock to me. Rest on Dr. Bishop Olusola Ore chairman, Pfnlagos State”.
The late Bishop Ore is survived by his wife, Rev. Mrs. Yemi Ore, children and grandchildren.
