Rotary Club of Egbe, District 9110 in conjunction with APON Foundation has given empowerment items to residents of the community to start businesses of their own.

The event which took place at Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area Multi-purpose Hall, Idimu Sunday, July 26, 2020, had the Executive Chairman, Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Hon. Kunle Olowoopejo, Vice Chairman, Mutiu Adebiyi, Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Tola Dada, All Honourable councilors in Egbe-Idimu LCDA Assistant District Governor, Rtn. Tayo Ojo, Rotarians and other dignitaries in attendance.

Aboaba Ayoola during the presentation of empowerment items to 50 residents of Egbe-Idimu by Rotary club of Egbe in conjunction with APON Foundation at Egbe-Idimu Multi-purpose hall, Thursday.

Speaking during the presentation of the items to the beneficiaries, the club President, Rtn. Taiwo Abiodun Lasisi, said giving back to the society had been his passion ever before he became the club president, noting that the items were given to them to start up businesses and become self reliant.

The President who is also the Leader of the Legislative Council, Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area and the founder, APON foundation, said his foundation would continue to support the club and other humanitarian clubs to put smiles on people’s faces.

In his keynote address, Assistant District Governor, Rtn. Ayo Ojo appreciated the President, RC Egbe and APON Foundation for the laudable project to start the Rotary year.

The Executive Chairman, Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Hon. Kunle Olowoopejo appreciated the President and club members for remembering his people at this trying period, using the occasion to call on the general public to adhere strictly to government directives on the preventive measures to combat the rampaging COVID-19 pandemic.

Past Assistant District Governor, Rtn. Lanre Soyinka urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items given to them.

Items presented are; Grinding machines(3), Sewing machines(2), Popcorn machines(3), Tiger generators(11), 3KG Gas cylinders(22) , Makeup box and tools(4), Catering tools with N10,000 each(2), Hairdressing tools(2), Clippers(3) and Lontor rechargeable water fan(3).
