Prof. Adetokunbo Fabamwo

Lagos State governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has approved the appointment of Prof. Adetokunbo Fabamwo as the new Chief Medical Director of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
Fabanwo is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and was until his appointment of the Department of Obstretrics and Gynaecology Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), Ikeja, Lagos.
According to his letter of appointment which was signed by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, Fabamwo’s three year-term took effect from Tuesday, January 1, 2019.
In the letter, the state government expressed confidence in Prof. Fabamwo’s capacity to successfully lead the institution.
Muri-Okunola, on behalf of the governor, stated: “In approving your appointment, due cognisance has been taken of your track record. I, therefore have no doubt that you will bring your wealth of experience to bear on the mandate of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital and that you will continue to justify the confidence reposed in you by His Excellency, the Governor.”
The Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, SAN, has also congratulated Fabamwo on behalf of the entire Lagos State University Community.
Fagbohun, in his congratulatory message to the new LASUTH CMD, noted that Prof. Fabamwo had consistently demonstrated excellence and quality leadership in his duties in the College of Medicine which was why the VC was not surprised at his elevation; even as Fagbohun wished the new CMD an outstanding tenure in office.
Recall that another member of Staff in the Lagos State University College of Medicine, Dr. Abimbola Ayodeji Bolarinwa recently emerged as the first female Urologist in Nigeria.
