Sacked DSS DG, Lawal Daura
Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo sent the DG of Department of State Security (DSS), Lawal Daura packing from office on account of the siege laid on the National Assembly by the DSS operatives this morning, investigations have revealed.
Masked and unmasked DSS operatives invaded the National Assembly this morning, preventing lawmakers and staff from gaining entry into the complex.
Osinbajo announced the sack of Daura in a statement by his media aide, Laolu Akande without stating the reason. The sack was announced while he (Daura) was meeting with the acting President.
About 10 minutes later, Acting President described as unauthorized take-over of the National Assembly complex earlier today as a gross violation of constitutional order, rule of law and all acceptable norms of law and order.
The acting president in the statement by Akande said, “the unlawful act which was done without the knowledge of the Presidency is condemnable and completely unacceptable.
“By this statement, Professor Osinbajo is consequently assuring Nigerians that all persons within the law enforcement apparatus who participated in this travesty will be identified and subjected to appropriate disciplinary action.”
