Chief Innocent Nwachukwu Memorial Foundation Berths With Goodies For Pupils

The sleeping community of Umuweaku in Odu na Izuoha Autonomous Community, Ahiazu, Imo State, penultimate Saturday, erupted in exhilaration when the first ever Chief Innocent Nwachukwu Memorial Foundation (CIMNF) was unveiled.

The event which attracted the presence of the Eze, Dr. James A. Okoronkwo, Duzieoha 1 of Odu na Izuoha Autonomous Community, prominent members of Umuweaku, men, women, children, and friends from far and wide, opened a vista of hope for the school-going children with the provision of financial assistance to ensure their continuation in school when four of the pupils received sums of =N=10,000.00 each while one got =N=30,000.00 to meet some of their educational needs.

An initiative of late Chief Innocent Ejikeme Anaele Nwachukwu’s first son, Aguiyi Nwachukwu and his siblings, the Foundation seeks to empower school pupils in the community, ensure that lack of funds do not forestall their desire to acquire education as well as immortalise their late father.

In this maiden outing of CINMF, and for a start, five pupils who posted outstanding academic performances in the previous school year, emerged deserving beneficiaries from the Foundation’s magnanimity.

In his address at the event, the co-ordinator of the Foundation, Mr. Donne A. Chikere, stated that the CINMF’s gesture was just the humble beginning a developmental project which promises to blossom in the subsequent editions to be held yearly, advising the beneficiaries to put into good use their gifts. He further admonished them to reject negative ideas from peers but to embrace positive social values and virtues.

Addressing the gathering, Eze Okoronkwo counselled the pupils to be of good behaviour, and studious in order to justify the kind gesture of the promoters of CINMF.

The children were a study in joy as they went in turns to to receive from one of Umuweaku elders and the patron of the family gathering, Mr. Aloysius Ihieanacho Oham, the financial packages.
