A pregnant woman and member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA who attended the party’s sensitization rally at Oguta last Saturday delivered a bouncing baby boy at Mgbidi junction while returning with other members of the party from the event.

According to APGA sources, Mrs. Gloria Abaleke from Uwaorie Agwa ward in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State was, before delivery, heading for another rally at Ohaji despite the fact that she knew her delivery period was due even ahead of the date given by her doctor.

It was gathered that she was caught up with labour immediately after leaving Oguta and before they could get to Mgbidi, signs that her baby was set for delivery became imminent as she entered into a shop by the road, Mgbidi/Oguta Junction, where with the aid of other women, she was delivered of the baby boy.

Following the miraculous delivery, the State Chairman of APGA, Barrister Peter Ezeobi, accompanied by the LGA Chairmen of Oguta, Oru West and Owerri North visited the family and their new baby boy at Agwa Town on Sunday where the Chairman, presented them with gifts and a live cock, symbolizing APGA.

He expressed delight at the circumstances surrounding the baby’s birth and said it was a good omen and sign of victory for APGA in the state.

“I see it through the spiritual eye that it is a good omen and of good things coming not only to Agwa community but to Imo State APGA.

“This is the first time such a situation is happening in the arena of politics in Imo state and it didn’t happen for nothing. It may look simple but it is the handwork of God and we thank Him for His Mercy”, said Ezeobi.

The chairman charged the visibly dumbfounded husband, Mr. Alex Abaleke who apparently is not an APGA member to see what God has done to him as a divine call to join APGA, saying that no other political party would have shown concern to his family in such situation of theirs except APGA because according to him, the party believes strongly in its philosophy of “Be your Brothers and Sisters’ keeper”.

Speaking about her experience, Mrs. Abaleke said she had no feeling or a sign of delivery prior to leaving her home since her date was ahead and she entertained no worry going for the rally.

She was full of gratitude to God for making her delivery a safe one, saying it would have been a sour point if the situation had turned otherwise, thanking Imo APGA for dignifying her with their visit and promising to remain steadfast in the party.
