Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Senator Ifeanyi
Araraume has said he does not need the help of Governor Rochas
Okorocha to succeed him as the next governor of Imo State.

Araraume is running for the office of Imo governor in 2019 on the APC platform.

Speaking to APC faithful at his Isiebu country home in Isiala Mbano
LGA of Imo State during the yuletide, Araraume said, “I don’t need
Rochas, I have known President Buhari before Rochas.

“If Rochas says he as one man will decide what happens in Imo, it will
not work for him. A third term will not work in Imo State” he said.

He said plans by Governor Okorocha to have his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu
as his successor in 2019 will not work in Imo State, harping on the
need for the APC to be strong in Imo having communicated such to the
Governor.

“ I have always told the Governor for the party to be strengthened in
the state. They have to feel inferior to other parties because of the
way they are treated.

“If you are a party in power and your members are not happy, then
something is wrong” he said and assured the party members of his
continuous support.

Earlier, State Deputy Chairman of the APC, Hon. Ugochukwu Nzekwe said
Araraume deserve every accolade for reviving and sustaining the party
in the state.
