Billionaire oil magnet, Engr. Arthur Eze has, in a surprise move, backed Chief Victor Umeh in his quest to represent Anambra Central in the Senate.
The contentious position which has remained vacant since 2015, after the sacking of Mrs Uche Ekwunife, will witness a rerun on January 13th, 2018.
Umeh, who was at the residence of Prince Eze for the Ofala festival of his elder brother and monarch of Ukpo kingdom, was described by Eze as an illustrious Igbo son worthy to represent Anambra Central senatorial district at the Senate.
Umeh, who stormed the Okofia Palace, Ukpo, to pay homage to Igwe Robert Eze, received a rousing ovation from the dignitaries present at the event.
Eze was the financier of the the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 18th gubernatorial election in Anambra State, Dr. Tony Nwoye.
Nwoye, who was also at the event, in the spirit of sportsmanship, embraced Chief Umeh and assured him of his support.
He assured that he would work with him when he gets to the National Assembly. Nwoye is a siting lawmaker in the House of Representatives.
Umeh has been adjudged the only strong candidate for the January 13 rerun election.
