Tony Okoroji, COSON Chairman and other members of the Board
The Copyright Society if Nigeria (COSON) has constituted what it describes as Rapid Response Legal Team. This, according to the unanimously returned chairman of the society’s management board, Chief Tony Okoroji, was in compliance with the decisions made by COSON at the just concluded Extra-ordinary General Meeting held at the COSON House, Ikeja, on Tuesday, December 19, 2017.
He disclosed that the team comprised eight crack lawyers drawn from some of the nation’s most reputable Intellectual Property law firms.
The list includes, Barristers Justin Ige, TochukwuTagbo, Femi Fajolu, and Austin C. Ezendu respectively of Creative Legal, Commercial Practice Solicitors, G.O. Sodipo & Co. and Apostle & Proxy Solicitors.
Others are Barr. Rockson Igelige of Felix, Igelige & Associates, Barr. James Ononiwu of Whitehouse Solicitors, Barr. George Ohioma of George Ohioma Chambers and Barr. James Ibor of Basic Right Counsel.
The team’s duties include to quickly and frontally take on any legal attack on COSON from anywhere as well as to ensure that the rights of members were defended at all times, to protect any organisation which has obtained a license genuinely issued by COSON among others.
The Rapid Response Legal Team is to be coordinated by Barr. Similar Washpam, COSON General Counsel.
