Subsequent to the robbery allegation leveled against him by fellow artiste, Mr. 2-Kay, Burna Boy appeared in court on Monday, December 18, 2017 and was granted bail.
The singer was arrested by the Lagos Police Command on Friday, December 15, 2017. He was later arrested on arrival, interrogated and detained.

Burna Boy who had to cancel his show billed for Sunday, December 17, 2017, showed up at Court 1 at the Magistrate Court in Ikeja in the afternoon.

The singer was charged with two counts, ‘accessory to the fact’ and ‘hoarding of information’ that he knew what happened at Eko Hotel & Suites and didn’t inform the police.

Burna Boy’s defense counsel Bright Idahosa applied for bail on behalf of his client. The bail was granted with one surety and N100,000.

The counsel for Mr 2Kay’s record label, Grafton Records had no objection to the bail because according to him, the charges are bailable and he could not be remanded in prison.

The case has been adjourned to December 29, 2017.

It will be recalled that after the attack on Mr 2Kay in October 2017, the police immediately started investigations and in the process arrested four suspects who upon interrogation confessed to the crime.

They claimed Burna boy was the mastermind behind the crime. According to the suspects, he paid them a total of N100,000 to attack Mr 2Kay, N50,000 was paid before the crime and the balance was paid after they completed the operation.

Immediately after the confessions of the suspects, the police then declared Burna Boy wanted over the robbery and assault.
