Lady Gaga in recuperation
The 31-year-old took to Instagram Thursday to inform her fans that she’s recovering after an illness last month sidelined her from a series of shows on her Joanne World Tour slated in Europe last month.
Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, indicated in a trio of posts that her health is on the upswing after publicly announcing she had the painful disorder fibromyalgia last month.
‘Tough girl on the mend,’ the Grammy-winner wrote, adding that she was ‘slowly coming back to life’ and had ‘some exciting tour announcements on the way!’
In two of the three posts, she was clad in a baby blue coat over a pink long-sleeved top, sparkly silver shorts and blue patterned ankle boots, topped off with a hat in a blush tone.
She thanked the brands Saks Potts ‘for this dope jacket,’ Polly Plume ‘for the beautiful sparkly boots,’ and Juicy Couture ‘for these awesome sparkly track shorts and comfy top.’
The Perfect Illusion artist also had a post in which she was posed inside a studio, in front of a soundboard, adding that getting back to work had something of a healing impact amid her illness.
‘Nothing like studio therapy,’ the Just Dance singer wrote, noting that she ‘had so much fun in the studio’ on the outing.
‘Made me feel like a star,’ the Bad Romance singer said, ‘like the ones in the sky, you know .. the real kind.’
The musician’s promoter, Live Nation, said last month that a six-week slate of dates – starting on September 21 in Barcelona, Spain and finishing in Koln, Germany on October 28 – were postponed until early next year as the songstress was coping with ‘severe physical pain’ amid her fibromyalgia battle.
‘Lady Gaga is suffering from severe physical pain that has impacted her ability to perform,’ the promoter said September 21, noting that the artist ‘remains under the care of expert medical professionals who recommended the postponement.
‘Lady Gaga is devastated that she has to wait to perform for her European fans. She plans to spend the next seven weeks proactively working with her doctors to heal from this and past traumas that still affect her daily life, and result in severe physical pain in her body.’
The announcement came about a week after the Poker Face vocalist shared a shot on Instagram on an IV going into her arm as she said she was ‘devastated’ she was unable to participate in last month’s Rock In Rio music festival in Brazil.
She wrote, ‘I would do anything 4 u but I have to take care of my body right now,’ adding, ‘I ask for your grace and understanding, and promise that I will come back and perform for you soon.’
