Grace Jones
The 69-year-old model and singer shifted her lean frame for the cameras Thursday at the premiere of Grace Jones: Bloodlight And Bami at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Grace looked typically stylish in a floor-length black dress that hugged her body along with long black gloves and a matching shawl over her head.Ij
The Jamaican-born actress completed her outfit with open-toed black heels.
The Slave To The Rhythm singer added a pop of color with bright red lipstick and accessorized with purple mirrored sunglasses.
She smiled when greeting fans upon arrival and also stopped to sign autographs.
Grace teamed up at the premiere with director Sophie Fiennes, 50, and producers Katie Holly and Shani Hinton.
The nearly two-hour movie was the opener of the film festival’s documentary lineup.
The documentary includes performances of some of Grace’s biggest hits, including Pull Up To The Bumper.
It also follows Grace on a holiday road trip across Jamaica that uncovers her family roots and a traumatic childhood.
Grace has been known over the years for her androgynous appearance and bold stage presence but the documentary also shows her as a lover, daughter, mother, sister and grandmother.
The documentary’s title derives from Jamaican patois with ‘Bloodlight’ representing the red light when an artist is recording and ‘Bami’ meaning bread – the substance of life.
Grace Jones: Bloodlight And Bami will screen next month at film festivals in Australia and is scheduled for release on October 27 in the UK.
