Nigerian, Jason May Dance Into “Guinness Book of World Records”

Nigerian dancer, Joshua Marcus Usoro aka Jason formerly 9jason may be on the verge of dancing into the Guinness Book of World Records.

The 25-year-old graduate of Covenant university with BSc in Management Information System, 2013 will be attempting to break a world record for longest dance marathon by an individual.

India’s Kalamandalam Hemaletha holds the record since 2010, after her Mohiniyattam dance session that lasted 123 hours and 15 minutes. She achieved the record at the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi in India from 20 to 26 September 2010.

Jason will be attempting to break the world record in Lagos Nigeria, from August 24 to 31, 2017. And if successful, the Covenant University graduate will be joining, DJ Obi, and Kaffy as Nigerian Guinness Record holders.

Meanwhile, the longest dance marathon by a couple is 38 hr 30 min and was achieved by Brett and Jennifer Griswold in Hawaii, USA, from 6 to 7 December 2014.

Jason has been dancing for 20years and started choreographing at the age of 14. He also participated in some dance competitions in Nigeria which are Maltina Dance Hall and Dance with Peter.
