The Nigerian Police has been lauded for their efforts to curtail homosexuality in the country.

The Yoruba Youth Socio-cultural Association (YYSA) gave the commendation in a statement
issued in Osogbo on Friday by its President, Mr Olalekan Hammed.

Hammed, who made reference to the arrest of 42 persons in Lagos, for allegedly involving in homos3xuality, described homos3xuality as an immoral and ungodly act, adding that it was also against African cultural value and belief.

“The efforts being made by Nigeria Police to ensure that homos3xuality goes to extinction is commendable.

“Other government agencies, NGOs and the entire Nigerians should join the war against homos3xuality.

“That is the only way we can save the incoming generations from being homos3xuals,” he said.

Hammed, urged Nigerians not to see hunting of homosexuals by the police as needless or waste of time, claiming the fight against homos3xuality in Nigeria required collective responsibility.

Hammed further urged that similar efforts against homos3xuality should be extended to other parts of the country.
