Ronke Oshodi Oke
After media reports Nollywood actress, Ronke Oshdi Oke had expressed belief that marriages in which the man is not the sole provider won’t last she has come out to debunk such a claim.
Ronke who was furious at how she was portrayed, expressed her anger towards a media house, claiming they had taken her words out context.
However, in a series of posts on Instagram, she took a swipe at the interviewers, saying they wanted to tarnish her name.
Said she: ‘I was so so annoyed. I’m a married woman and I’ve got children. It’s so unfortunate they didn’t post everything and it is so unfortunate that you cannot see everything.
‘That is why I don’t do interview[s] because me, I call a spade a spade. It was something that led to something … and that was not the only thing I said.’
‘Go and watch the video very well from beginning to end, you will know that’s not what I meant at all,’ she went on.
‘As I am talking, I’m in serious pain,’ she continued, saying someday, people would use their children this way when they become famous.
Ronke later burst into tears on Thursday as she insisted that her words were misrepresented in the video with Broadway Africa TV.
In the Broadway interview, she said, a marriage cannot work when the woman is the one providing the finance that runs the home. She argued that a marriage where the woman is the one paying the utility bills, providing the school fees of the children, food and other important things cannot work.
She however refuted the claims in a teary video saying her words were misconstrued and that she said other good things .
