June is the sixth month of the (fiscal) year, yet the budget has not been signed into law. Last year, the apprriation bill was given the executive nod in May after much back and forth movement, padding, missing, all amounting to lateness.
From every indication, the National Assembly has fully done its bid on the budget albeit, slower than the previous year, but it is still on the executive racks; not given the legal teeth to activate the eoconmy,which smirks of dereliction of duty on the part of the Presidency.
What could be the reason for the acting president not to have accented to this year’s appropriation bill up till now?
